About Laura in Kosovo

Hello! I’m Laura, a 2013 Fulbright ETA to Kosovo. ETA stands for English Teaching Assistant, meaning that I work with several high school teachers as a teaching assistant. I organize fun activities that help the students learn and practice their grammar skills. I’m placed in Prizren, a historic city in Southern Kosovo. For 20 hours a week I am an English language teaching assistant at a local elementary school, Leke Dukagjini. Outside of my teaching commitment, I will pursue a variety of independent research topics including Albanian filigree jewelry, Serbian medieval frescoes, and Orthodox monastery architecture. I hope you enjoy my blog! It’s filled with adventures and discoveries I’ve made about Kosovo along the way.
